ACCU believes that credit unions are founded, in the first place, to aid people not just in acquiring loans, but to lead them to best possible ways on how to decide for their finances so that they could be financially free. Unfortunately, due to growing instances of members not being able to pay their loans and having a negative image of borrowing instead of growing their money to pay back and earn, ACCU saw the need to train credit union members in financial literacy. Financial literacy pertains to make proper, advantageous, informed decisions on monetary resources based on an individual’s need.
Created by ACCU, this manual desires to train dedicated “educators” on how to show and present the best financial practices on credit union members so that they would learn to take care of their money like handling personal savings, investments, security and emergency funds, applying wealth creation tools, planning for their life needs, and sharing their financial knowledge to other members.
