This facilitator's manual elaboratively discusses the Cooperative Member Participation Programme or CMMP Methodology which was devised to encourage participation from cooperative members in terms of planning and decision- making process. It aims to help cooperative societies, especially those who have larger membership, to spark interest and engagement from its members. Applying a grassroots approach of making up policies and procedures, this material can help instructors who intend to teach cooperative leaders, officers, or members on how to be inclusive in their method of action planning. The planning methodology actively includes not only those who are usual onlooking members or uninvolved observers in coop meetings and activities, but also the women and the youth. In simpler terms, this material can be used by the instructors to transform members from being the object of planning to planners and to involve key local government agencies in formulation of enabling programs that would benefit the cooperatives.
Each session of this training manual has a topic of interest, mainly pertaining to each part of the CMPP process, from setting up, conducting baseline surveys, seminar proper, up to post-seminar proper. For greater appreciation of coop participants, illustrations, concept maps, and additional readings are provided for them. Meanwhile the instructor is also given with a set of predefined session objectives and learning outcomes for them to have an idea of what to expect out of each activity or lecture.
