Most cooperatives in the Philippines are confronted with organizational challenges. One of these problems, that is surprisingly rampant, is the lack of group direction or compelling agenda that backs up the leadership. For this reason, many cooperatives have expressed their struggles in positioning themselves against their competitors, establishing their group identity founded on values, identifying their goals, and achieving them.
In response to this problem, the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) has developed this module to aid cooperative leaders, managers, and BODs in fostering the right and holistic knowledge on effective strategic planning. By imparting basic concepts and methods on strategic thinking, VMOKRAPI- SPATRES framework, left-to-right planning, and SWOT analysis, this module hopes to help the leaders set and shape their community-driven goals and translate their vision and mission into concrete actions. Forward thinking, this module also offers various means for cooperatives to review and redesign their current and future enterprise strategies for continuing organizational and people learning, relevance, and growth.
