ANTIPOLO, RIZAL – Employees of the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) celebrated the International Day of Cooperatives on July 1 by planting 300 tree seedlings, contributing to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Departing the Quezon City headquarters at 5 AM and arriving at the planting site in Sitio Ysiro, Barangay San Jose, the 29 volunteers braved the heat and humidity, and the weeds and thickets to plant 300 seedlings of Guyabano, Narra, and other native tree species.

One of the advocacies of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) is for all cooperatives to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.  The NATCCO Network advocates Sustainable Development Goal #13 or Climate Action.
