Abstract

This handbook aims to guide cooperative tellers or cashiers who are usually in charge of all the transactions of the organization.It provides a couple of brief, but useful lessons on the basics of cashier work which normally involve account handling and opening, deposits and withdrawals, payments and disbursements, securing required forms, security of the safe, end-of-month report on cash and  ways on increasing cooperative deposit. Likewise, it also gives practical tips for the cashier to spot and handle matters when encountering robbery or counterfeit money. Aside from the usual tasks mentioned, this handbook lays out ways on how to evaluate cashier's work performance and how guidelines or policies can manage or discipline the teller's disposition towards his/ her responsibilities. For easy reference of the cooperative cashier, some flowcharts detailing on cash disbursements, loan, and cash receipts are also supplemented in this handbook.
