NATCCO and Region XI Co-ops Pioneer Regional Consultative Dialogue

Listening is the first step to a strong and supportive relationship. And that’s the core behind the Region XI Consultative Meeting that NATCCO and the co-ops in Region XI collaborated on August 17, 2026. The Consultative Meeting was held at the Conference Hall of Tagum Cooperative in Tagum City, actively participated in by 54 participants from 23 co-ops. NATCCO’s team was led by CEO Sylvia Paraguya, who also shared the State of NATCCO. BOD Vice-Chairperson Rey Labasano and BOD Member Alvic Suaybagio represented NATCCO’s leadership.

The idea of the Regional Consultative Meeting sprang from the NATCCO General Assembly in Iloilo, where Region XI co-ops volunteered to jumpstart the listening and feedback session. Key operational concerns were discussed, no holds barred dialogue, with everyone keeping an open mind and heart toward their resolution. The goal is to provide a space where co-ops can share their suggestions, identify areas for improvement, and seize opportunities for collaboration. Commitments during the meeting will be monitored so improvements can be ensured. The ultimate goal is to grow the network together, with member co-ops taking a more active role in building an integrated network.

This proactive engagement underscores how open dialogue serves as a connection toward a fully integrated network. By aligning local operational realities with NATCCO’s overarching strategic direction, the consultative framework transforms co-op members into active co-creators of shared growth. A unified network relies on this exact synergy, where open feedback, joint problem-solving, and continuous monitoring directly strengthen the collective resilience and service delivery of the entire co-op system. As NATCCO refines this approach for nation-wide replication, every region gains a stronger voice in shaping a seamlessly interconnected, member-driven network.

NATCCO extends its gratitude to the Region XI co-ops for pioneering this consultative meeting. Through this experience, NATCCO is reflecting on how this dialogue can be replicated in other regions. This consultative meeting also provides rich input on how Ownership Meetings can be restructured to be more member-focused. The Region XI co-ops are likewise excited to host NATCCO’s Golden Celebration in 2027.
