Women Enterprise

The Women Enterprise Development promotes gender-responsive enterprises that build sustainable, technologically linked businesses empowering women.

Parallel to the participation of women in co-op governance, NATCCO advances women’s economic empowerment by encouraging and promoting women-led enterprises.

NATCCO recognizes that women empowerment – an abstract idea for some – becomes reality when women can discover their talents and become entrepreneurs.

NATCCO encourages and trains co-ops to support women-led enterprises through financial literacy, creativity, providing business skills, and market access.

NATCCO regularly conducts Training of Trainers on Business Bootcamp for Women Entrepreneurs (TOT-BBWE).

Rather than solely training entrepreneurs, this program builds a network of certified mentors within cooperatives who can provide ongoing business coaching and advisory support. This approach strengthens cooperative capacity to incubate and scale women-led enterprises  internally. Complementing this is the CoopHERate Series, a short-format learning model (2–3 hours) designed to respond to the time constraints of women entrepreneurs balancing business and household responsibilities. Sessions are practical, targeted, and immediately applicable.

The focus is no longer simply on starting businesses, but on strengthening enterprise viability, competitiveness, and long-term growth within cooperative ecosystems.
