NATCCO Network General Assembly on May 1 – 3

The 1,078 cooperatives strong NATCCO Network will conduct its 24th Leaders’ Congress and 49th General Assembly on May 1 to 3 in Iloilo City at the newly-refurbished Iloilo Convention Center. NATCCO’s event organizers have increasingly had to find larger venues in as the number of participants has been approaching 1,500 in recent years.

Iloilo Convention Center’s construction was completed in September 2015 in time for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in 2015. The City itself is an economic hub in the Visayas and is a cultural center as well that will satisfy the interests of the participants after the General Assembly and the Leaders’ Congress. The Leaders’ Congress is held to discuss issues that are included in the agenda of the General Assembly, ensuring that discussions at the General Assembly on May 2 are already settled and agreements and resolutions are arrived at peacefully and efficiently. Important joint events are the “Pre-Congresses” where two major gatherings will be conducted from April 30 to the morning of May 1 at the ICON as well: the Managers’ Congress and the Chairpersons’ Congress. The Managers’ Congress will be headed by the NATCCO Managers’ Club comprising co-op Managers/CEOs and their lieutenants – Chief Operating Officers, Branch Managers and Department Heads or primary cooperatives. The Chairpersons’ Congress will be headed by the NATCCO Chairpersons’ Club and will be
attended by primary co-op Chairpersons, Directors, and Committee officers.

Theme for both events is “Activating Our Co-op Identity: Empowered Leaders Driving Innovation and Resilience.

Focus will be heavy on the “Integrated Network” that NATCCO envisions – where co-ops will be inter-connected by one core banking system software, with cooperatives having uniform and compliant products and services, operations in compliance with government regulations, having excellent governance, and standardized education and training for members,
management, staff and leaders of primary cooperatives. This is where co-op managers and leaders gather to address today’s realities in the cooperative sector, business environment, governance, sustainability, innovation, and future readiness.
