MICOOP Program Marks 20 Years of Innovation
ILOILO CITY – The Microfinance Innovations in Cooperatives (MICOOP) Program celebrates its 19th year of growing cooperatives through innovation and integration on April 16-17 at the Diversion 21 Hotel.
The big event is the 19th MICOOP National Forum.
Expected to attend are representatives from some 80 leaders, management and staff of cooperatives all over the country that are participating in the NATCCO MICOOP Program.
MICOOP was established in 2006 to enable small co-ops especially in the countryside to grow and be sustainable to serve members better, and improve the communities where they
operate. The aim is to spread financial inclusion to the “unbanked and underserved” that are largely ignored by the mainstream financial service providers.
Under the MICOOP Program, participating cooperatives are provided maximum support from the MICOOP Team and given the whole line of NATCCO services – from training, coaching,
auditing, financing, banking software, marketing support, and more.
The theme for the 19 th Annual National MICOOP Forum is “Beyond Access: Deepening Financial Inclusion and Empowerment.”
At the Forum, to be discussed are the directions that the MICOOP Program will take in 2026. Recognition as well, will be given to the best performing MICOOP participating cooperatives in the following categories: MICOOP Performance Growth Award; MICOOP Top Performer; MICOOP of the Year Award, and MICOOP Manager of the Year Award.
To open the event and welcome participants will be Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Maria Lourdes Treñas-Chu.
Keynote Speaker will be Mr. Antonio C. Escobar Jr., Cooperative Development Authority Region 6 Director.
Giving the State of the MICOOP Program will be MICOOP Team Head Maria Veronica B. Sierra.
