QUEZON CITY – Bicolano co-op stalwart Romulo Caceres of San Isidro Development Cooperative (SIDECO) was chosen by the 2022 Board of Directors to be the NATCCO Chairperson at the first organizational meeting following the elections at the General Assembly on April 25.
Caceres brings with him a long experience in cooperative advocacy and development in the Bicol Region and his delivery of votes for the COOP-NATCCO Partylist in previous elections.
He had served as Chairperson in 2004, and made the fateful – and controversial -- decision to convert NATCCO into a two-tier federation that began the “Transformation Journey”.
By 2008, just four years into the ‘journey’, NATCCO grew to be a billionaire federation, and offered the widest range of products and services to member-cooperatives.
SIDECO in Naga City was established in 2007 and provides members financial services.
SIDECO is aggressively expanding its operations in various parts of Region 5 through digitalization, and is a key adopter of NATCCO’s KAYA Payment Platform, KAYA ATMs in its branches, and eKoopBanker Plus financial software.
Caceres has a BS Degree in Agriculture, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Master of Resource Management.
Serving as Vice Chairperson of the NATCCO Board 2022-23 is Mr. Nicolas Valentin of Barbaza Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Antique Province.
