First Co-op Cup Chess Tournament October 21

Excellent Peoples' MPC and NATCCO Network recently signed an Agreement to hold the first chess tournament for co-ops.
 
In the spirit of Cooperative Solidarity, the First Co-op Chess Cup Tournament for co-operators is scheduled for October 21 with theme “Solidarity Thru Sport”. This is expected to be one of the highlights of the October Cooperative Month.
 
This exciting tournament is an initiative of Excellent Peoples' Multi-Purpose Cooperative and the NATCCO Network.
 
Venue is Alphaland Southgate Mall, EDSA corner Chino Roces Avenue in Makati City near the Magallanes MRT Station.
 
The agreement between EPMPC and NATCCO Network was signed by NATCCO COO Raul M. Calayan and EPMPC General Manager Ariston Matias.  Witnesses were Tournament Chief Arbiter Alex Dinoy, Maureen Astorga and Manolito Quito of EPMPC, and Diosdado Luna of NATCCO Member Relations.
 
The tournament is an individual tournament with three categories:
 
Kiddies - 12 years old and below
Youth - 13 - 17 years old
Open - 18 years old and above
 
Mode of play for the tournament is the Swiss System.  Games will be played at the rate of 20 minutes plus 3 seconds delay for each side.
 
All co-ops are encouraged to send participants.  The tournament can accommodate 200 players.
 
Registration fee is Php 400 per player.
