GA Pushes Integration, Technology, Youth, Enterprise

CAGAYAN DE ORO – The NATCCO Network ended the 41st General Assembly and Leaders’ Congress on a high note, as the leadership of one of the largest co-op federations in the country pushed for integration, the use of technology to improve co-op services, greater involvement youth or “millennials” in cooperatives, as well as support for small and medium enterprises.

For the first time, the Leaders’ Congress, attended by some 750 leaders from cooperatives all over the country, had a large proportion of young people as speakers as the federation has focused on involvement of young people.

The importance of technology, specifically digital transactions through the Kaya Payment Platform, was also emphasized.  Kaya Payent Platform enables co-ops to provide electronic transactions through the use of smart phones.

The Leaders’ Congress and the GA were held April 27-29 at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel.
