Zamboanga Teachers Train in the Aflatoun Way

ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY -- Thirty seven (37) teachers from four (4) new partner schools are now qualified to teach local kids on how to save, invest, and have fun while doing it after they attended the  Aflatoun Teachers' Training organized by Zamboanga Sibugay Credit Coop (ZAMSICCO) and NATCCO Network on February 17-18, 2017.

Children & Youth Program Officer, Hazel Ann Mangaya and Aflatoun National Trainer, Mr. Rodolfo Villanueva facilitated the sessions on social and financial literacy. The teachers also learned more about the Cooperative and expressed their gratefulness on having a child-friendly savings Program that will teach students the value and wise use of their resources.

The training was held at Alta Lodge in the Municipality of Kabasalan.

The partnership with the schools was made possible thanks to the Dept. of Education Division of Zamboanga Sibugay for its inspiring support in the roll-out of Aflatoun.

Aflatoun is NATCCO Network’s youth program, where co-ops and schools partner to train kids how to save, be industrious, learn to invest, and know their rights.

As of January 2017, Aflatoun is being implemented in partnership with 126 co-ops and 866 schools nationwide, reaching more than 215,782 school children, and generating savings amounting to P110.9 Million.
